Rivers are out of their banks.

The Missouri and Platte rivers are out of their banks. We are having serious flooding in the entire Missouri River Valley. I will try to get some pictures up of the flooding.

HRH Elizabeth II visits the US

For those of us of English decent having the Queen in the country is a special time. although my ancestors were loyalists during the Revolution we are very much American today.

I wonder how many of us reflect during her visit on our English heritage; not only our language is English but our legal system is based on English Common Law.

Section 1.101 of the Missouri Revised Statues says that English Common Law is in fact the statutory law of the State.

We know she won't be with us much longer so this is most likely her last visit to the US.

"God save the Queen"

My granddaughter is named after both of the Elizabeths.

Thinking about Race week on the J & E Riggin
Thinking about Race week on the J & E Riggin magnify

I am thinking about race week on the J & E Riggin.

My daughter Nancy; granddaughter Libby (Elizabeth; named for the queen but that is another entry) and myself are booked and confirmed for race week on the J & E Riggin Maine Adventure Sails.

My annual week on the Riggin is something I look forward to every year and my life kind of centers around that time. Someday I am going to figure out a way to make the Riggin and Maine be more than 1/52 of my time. (Living in a Democrat state is a real problem for me; I might just go there to bug 'em.)

This will be my 12 th time and Nancy and Libby 2nd time. So we are all Riggin Repeaters now. However being a Riggin Repeater is not that special; most of their passengers are Riggin Repeaters.

Race week is the week when all of the Maine Schooners get together and have a race. The race runs for the entire day and the passengers get really into it.

Of course the week includes stops at some really great Maine sea coast towns like Casteen, Stonington and other places. And then there is the Lobster shore lunch which folks really like (unfortunately I have a shell fish alergy so I have never partaken).

However I am excited and counting the days.

More later~~
